It was a great honor for ETEREshop to create 10 custom circus mirror costumes for a famous Gia Eradze Royal Circus. We managed to complete the order in just 4 weeks, having created gorgeous mirror outfits for their brand-new New Year performance. It was not the first time that we designed custom mirror costumes for the talented artists of this renowned circus, and that made us feel even more proud of.
We ask our customers to send us costumes’ reference pictures or sketches to understand their preferences. Our task was to analyze them and to create a brand-new design with implementation of mirrors.
Based on the wishes of our customer, we created three sketches of the King’s and the Queen’s costumes.
The priority was to decide about the Queen’s costume design since it was more complicated and required more time for production. As for the Snow King’s costume, it was made to match the outfit of the Queen.
The Snow Queen’s costume consists of several garments: a mirror skirt with an underskirt, a mirror bosque, a mirror corset top with a cover with “glass spikes” decor, and a crown and arm covers decorated with “glass spikes”.
The King’s costume consists of a mirror tailcoat with a collar decorated with glass spikes, mirror pants, a mirror shirt, and a crown decorated with “glass spikes”.
The glass spikes for the King’s collar and the crown are also made of EVA and decorated with mirror plastic.
In order to test the costumes before the performance, we made just two of them at first – one silver and blue mirror outfit for the King and one for the Queen. It was important to make sure that the costumes would be comfortable to wear and wouldn’t hinder the movements of the artists.
The costumes were made in a very short term, taking into account that it was a custom order. The first two costumes were ordered at the middle of September and dispatched at the beginning of November.
The test runs of the costumes went well, so we started to produce the rest of the costumes. The order was placed on the 17th of November and dispatched on the 16th of December, though the agreed delivery date was no later than the New Year’s Eve. We did our best to finish the costumes fast, as we knew how important it was for the artists to make fittings of the costumes in advance and to get them in time for the dress rehearsals.
Great job, isn’t it?
Thank you GIA ERADZE ROYAL CIRCUS once again for trusting us and giving an opportunity to be a part of your majestic show!
